When you join via go race application, please put your preferred number down but this doesn’t guarantee that number.  The only way to 100% guarantee your number is to apply for the South Midland Championship number scheme which costs £10 with the money going to the ACU benevolent fund.   This is done by e mailing Dave Porter [email protected]

2025 Luton Club Championship Regulations 

Classes

Expert Championships – Open to ACU Adult Expert status riders 

Juniors Championship – Open to Adult Riders of any age who are not ACU Expert status riders 

Over 40’s Championship – Open to Riders between the age of 40 years old and 49 years old 

Over 50’s Championship – Open to Riders between the age of 50 years old and 59 years old 

Over 60’s Championship – Open to Riders over the age of 60 years old 

*The age of the vet riders’ categories will be classed as the age of the rider as at the first round of the championship.

Eligibility 

This is a member only championship however, all racers will be eligible to score championship points as racers who have not purchased an annual membership will be charged £5 extra per round to cover a day membership. 

Points System 

Championship points will be scored based on the riders overall position on the day.  1st place gets 25 points, 2nd gets 22, 3rd gets 19 , 4th gets 17,  5th 16, 6th 15 , 7th 14, 8th 13, 9th 12, 10th 11 , 11th 10, 12th 9 , 13th 8 , 14th 7, 15th 6 , 16th 5 , 17th  4 , 18th 3 , 19th 2 , 20th 1

Drop Score 

If we run 4 or more championship rounds then each rider's lowest score will be dropped when calculating the overall scores and positions.   If we run 3 or less rounds then all rounds will count.  

Championship Tie Break 

Once all the total championship scores are calculated (allowing for dropped scores where applicable) , if there is a tie on points between riders then the final positions will be decided by who finished higher in the last championship round.   Eg if there is a tie between 2 riders and rider A finished 4th at the last round and rider B finished 5th at the last round then rider A would finish ahead of rider B in the overall championship.
